Celebrating New Homes Week (26th February – 3rd March)

This week at BoKlok, we are celebrating New Homes Week. Organised by the Home Builders Federation (HBF) – a national body, which represents the home building industry in England and Wales. New Homes Week is an annual celebration of the many benefits of buying a new build home.

From energy efficiency to excellent design and high specification, BoKlok believes there are lots of benefits of buying new build homes. Here are just a few.

Energy efficiency

New build homes can save you money on your energy bills! New homes are built to a very high standard and have to adhere to minimum industry-wide standards for energy efficiency. Because of this, new homes can be much more energy efficient, meaning lower utility bills and lower running costs for their owners in the longer term. In fact, energy bills for new homes are on average 55% cheaper than for older properties, saving households £135 on monthly running costs (HBF Report ‘Watt a Save’).

BoKlok’s homes are always built to have less of an impact on the environment. They are designed to reduce energy use, to be environmentally friendly and save customers money at the same time. In a BoKlok home, you will find many clever features such as:

  • Enhanced insulation to keep heat in and reduce noise
  • Argon gas-filled double glazing to minimise heat loss
  • Water-saving taps, showers and toilets
  • Air Source Heat Pumps to fuel the homes more efficiently
  • Electric vehicle charging points to make driving that bit greener

Everything is included

Unlike with a secondhand property, everything is brand new, so there is no need to spend time or money on updating kitchens, bathrooms, flooring or décor. With a BoKlok home, everything is included! All flooring, white goods and appliances come as standard in all BoKlok homes. Highlighted in its recent ‘The BoKlok Difference’ campaign, this is one of the many things that differentiates a BoKlok home from other new build properties.

Peace of mind

New build homes come with a 10-year warranty. Put in place by the developer, the warranty is designed to protect the homeowner. This gives new homeowners the peace of mind that should any significant defects arise during this time period, they will be put right.

Homebuyer incentives

New homes often have a range of home buyer schemes available, which can assist with the costs of moving home. BoKlok has a number of offerings in place, from mortgage or deposit assistance, through to an Assisted Move scheme, which is designed to assist those who have an existing property to sell. Emma Plumridge, Sales and Marketing Director for BoKlok UK, said:

- New Homes Week provides a great opportunity to celebrate the many benefits of a new build home. For us at BoKlok, we know that the many energy saving features within our homes, as well as the fact that all of our homes come with appliances included as standard, are two major draws for our homebuyers. There are so many benefits of buying new. I would encourage anyone looking for a new home in Littlehampton or Worthing to come along, view our show homes and to experience for yourself, some of the many advantages of buying a new BoKlok home, said Emma Plumridge.
