BoKlok intensifies work on diversity and inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are a crucial part of the development of BoKlok. A new role has been created, with the task of developing a strategy and action plan. Aija Harju from Skanska Finland has been appointed as Diversity and Inclusion leader.

- Our success is determined by being able to attract employees with different skills, knowledge and experience. The BoKlok team is made up of those from all nationalities and genders, all with varying experiences. Half of the country’s managers within BoKlok are women and 20% of the employees at the factory in Gullringen are women. This is a good base to build upon, now we’ve stepped up our work on diversity and inclusion. Here, Aija's broad experience of working with diversity and inclusion within Skanska will be of great importance. In her previous roles, she has created both clear and lasting results, says Jonas Andé, Head of HR and Ethics at BoKlok.

Aija Harju joined Skanska in 2007 and has held several strategic assignments within diversity, inclusion and organisational culture. She has among other things, been responsible for the development and implementation of a strategy for diversity and inclusion in Skanska, Finland. In addition to participating in the development of a corresponding strategy for Skanska Norway.

- I'm really looking forward to my new role at BoKlok. The goal is to develop a diverse and inclusive strategy, which is in line with the BoKlok business strategy with both short-term and long-term goals. By involving the entire organisation in the work, we can create a stronger and more attractive business. A business where people from different backgrounds and experiences grow, says Aija Harju.

Aija Harju will start her new role in mid-March and will split her time between BoKlok and Skanska Finland. The assignment runs for one year and will then be passed onto another expert in the field, in order to bring in different ideas and experiences.
