Top marks for Bristol Uniform Exchange
This year BoKlok has been delighted to support the Bristol Uniform Exchange (the Exchange) - a group created to help families with the costs of school uniform.
Located close to BoKlok on the Brook - a residential community built by BoKlok, lies the Bristol Uniform Exchange. The Exchange is a vital service to local families helping to alleviate the costs of school uniform. Families can contact the Exchange via its Facebook group and through its various events, to access a whole range of uniform items.
In addition to offering families an opportunity to either swap items or request these for free, the Exchange has introduced a Wish List. This allows families to request items, which the Exchange has not been able to source through donations. At BoKlok we have been proud to support the Exchange in its efforts to help those families most in need.
Sustainability is at the heart of BoKlok's work, as is supporting the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The work done by founder Kirsty Clark and the team, innovatively promotes the reuse of clothes and tackles several SDGs – such as No Poverty and Reduced Inequalities.
- We are thrilled about our new and first partnership with such a fantastic company as BoKlok. We are looking forward to working with the BoKlok team and continuing to grow and support our group members and families across Bristol, says Kirsty Clark.
BoKlok’s Community Engagement Lead, Harry O’Conor says:
- The work being done by Kirsty and the Exchange is having a profound impact on Bristol’s children and families. I’m delighted BoKlok can have a small part to play in helping them reach more communities.
