36 apartment modules mounted in 60 seconds!
BoKlok is the sustainable, quality and low-cost home provider jointly owned by Skanska and IKEA, and we build our homes as volumetric elements indoors in an industrialised, modern way of building. On site, they are then assembled into homes.
By building in an industrialised way, we can not only build faster than traditional builders, we can also save on materials since we always know exactly how much we need for each house. Of course, the working environment is also better for our builders. The houses are shipped in volumetric elements from the factory to the construction site and assembled on site in just a day. Safer, faster and less noisy for the neighbours. Thanks to all this, we can build quality homes quick. Our record is seven months from land allocation to home owners moving in.
On site in the new neighbourhood
Most people are obviously curious about their future home and sometimes it may feel like the move is far away, even though all the modules are in place and the housing area is starting to take shape. That is to make sure that everything is in perfect shape when the home owners move in. In some cases, we invite our customers to see how it works when we mount the volumetric elements into houses.
Unfortunately, that is not always possible though - many times the building area is crowded and then we can’t have visitors there in a safe way. Therefore, we’ve had a camera filming the entire assembly of an apartment house of ours, in Sweden. The 36 volumetric elements in the film, took two days to assemble into an entire apartment building with three stories and 12 apartments.
Enjoy the film!
